Amused

We went to the local amusement park over the weekend (Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh). I hate flying, but I love roller coasters. Hmmm. We rode the coasters 6 times.

I also love carousels. I love the one in Central Park in NYC the best, because it's big and it goes really fast. I don't love that it's in a brick building, though. The one we went on yesterday was out in the open...we ate twist cones while watching it and then rode it...twice.

We tried to get our picture in the mirror, but realized that we

also stumbled on indisputable proof that carousels are for everyone.

Two words: Gummy Worms!

Picnic No. 1

Dusty and Julie got us a fully-loaded picnic basket as a wedding gift. Little did they know, Aaron and I are pretty much Professional Picnickers and were in need of a new tote (our old basket busted last summer, so we threw it out before we moved).

Saturday, we went to the Core Arboretum in Morgantown on the first picnic of the season. It was spontaneous, and we made due with what we had in the kitchen.

Menu:

  • spinach and mushroom quiche (bought, not homemade, but still yummy)

  • baby spinach, mushroom, and beet salad with a raspberry balsamic vinaigrette

  • Aaron whipped up a pasta salad with a package of tortellini, a tomato, red olives, sauteed garlic, sun dried tomatoes, parm, and pine nuts. It was amazing.

Elf came along. We want to make a point of doing this more often. Especially now that we have such awesome picnic gear.

Reader, I Married Him

thanks to Jen B. for sending us her photos so quickly!

The vows are said, the rings are on our fingers, and the cake is cut. What a day! I can't believe it's all over.

Aaron and I agree that it turned out pretty much just as we'd hoped it would, and much better than we expected it to. It was a lovely day that we'll remember forever. I can say with total certainty that it was my favorite day.

I'm thinking of writing up a series of posts about how/why the details came to be, to let those of you who could make it in on your favorite details, and to give a glimpse of what you missed to those of you who couldn't make it. And of course, pictures when we get them (please send us your pictures if you took any!) Thanks to everyone again for everything you've done for us. Everything was so special.
